Stratford Upon Avon Football Alliance

We began developing the imoSports system for the Stratford Upon Avon Football Alliance in the second half of the 2008 - 2009 season.

The Stratford Alliance is a grassroots league. It is a well run local football league with 32 clubs and 39 teams in 3 divisions.

The Stratford Alliance were looking to replace their current website as well as the tools that they used to administer the league. This was done using a mixture of an online tool and other applications including Word and Excel. They also wanted to reduce the workload of individual committee members so that all the positions on the committee could be performed by those with less time to volunteer.

Part of the fixture software was implemented for the end of the 2008 - 09 season, and it was fully implemented as part of the online imoSports service from the start of the 2009 - 10 season. Rather than the fixture secretary having to spend hours planning and cross-referencing fixtures, they could be generated a month at a time by a simple, single button click. The system also copes with teams who share a ground with other sides and don't have first choice. A simple tick box system allows the fixture secretary to mark when he wants a team to be away and the system makes sure they are correctly scheduled on that day. imoSports has even more features when the other side is in a league that also uses the system. In this case the system automatically passes information on ground availability from one league to the other.

As the season has moved on, additional features have also been trialed, and the Stratford Alliance will implement the full imoSports system for the 2010-11 season.
