A sports administration system is a tool that helps people who run sports, both at amateur and professional level, to do their work.

All sports administration used to be done on paper. Amateur volunteers and professional administrators would have to manage mounds of paper and juggle lots of information. This was both incredibly time consuming and hard to maintain accuracy. It was particularly hard on volunteers at the grass roots level of sport who would often have to store years of paper records whilst spending hours a week tracking and collating pieces of paper.

When computers became more common software started to appear to help with the administration, especially for league secretaries. These early programs were outnumbered by people building their own tools using spreadsheets (like Excel) and databases.

With the widespread use of the internet and the world wide web, online sites appeared, starting to offer tools often called league management systems. These were often focused on producing basic league websites, normally with a common style and centrally provided advertising.

All of the computerised tools to this point had the significant disadvantage in that they did not offer a great deal of extra assistance, whilst creating additional work, often a problem for amateur sports committee’s having to find additional volunteers for every extra task.

The imoSports sports administration system addresses these issues by reducing the amount of work required to run a sport, whether at a governing board, a league management committee or a club management committee.

Using our tools we minimise the amount of information that has to be entered, whilst ensuring that this information is analysed by the system to reduce the amount of manual checking that has to be performed. This can drastically reduce the amount of time spent administering a sport whilst increasing the quality and accuracy of the data.
